Creating a production brewery that supports an efficient industrial process but also serves as the focal point to an active tap room and hosts daily brewery tours can be a challenge. Arium’s team utilized a clean industrial aesthetic to weave together an inviting social space with an active brewhouse surrounded by an expansive bar.
Arium navigated an array of diverse requirements, conflicting use functions, building infrastructure limitations, and local code requirements to create Howard County’s first production brewery. Jailbreak Brewing Company’s award-winning facility offers a combination of brewery and dynamic front-of-house operations that became an aspirational model for dozens of future craft breweries across the region. Since completing Jailbreak, Arium’s design team has assisted with 25+ breweries, distilleries, and cideries. Design Award: NAIOP Maryland 2016 Best Tenant Fit-out Flex.
