Exclusive Motorcars

Arium’s design studio transformed the dated premanufactured metal building into a showroom/garage suitable for selling/maintaining luxury vehicles.

Arium AE is pleased to announce that construction is underway for the exterior and interior renovations for the new home of Exclusive Motorcars.  After 50+ years in use as Charlie’s RV and Camping Center, this 2 story structure is undergoing a complete renovation.

The facility will include a vehicle showroom and sales floor, office space, photo bay, wash and detail bays and drive through garage service bays. The site has ample parking for a large stock of pre-owned luxury vehicles. Arium partnered with the general contractor KasCon in a collaborative design-build effort to work through a host of design challenges in the adaptive reuse of this facility.

While the client desired a functional interior and open vehicle show room, there was a strong emphasis placed on transforming the lacking street presence of the existing prefabricated metal building. Arium worked through a number of collaborative progress design meetings in which a number of concepts for an enhanced building entry was explored and evaluated. Arium’s design studio focused on juxtaposing various layers of materials and textures in a way that would provide a clean modern façade at a scale that was appropriate to capture the attention of vehicles passing by on Liberty Road.  The design team collaborated with the client and the contractor to develop a project that met the project’s evolving schedule and budget requirements. We wish Exclusive Motorcars the best and are hopeful that this site will remain a fixture of the local community for the next 50 years.

Exclusive Motorcars in Randallstown MD is under construction. The original building’s dated metal and brick façade will be undergoing a significant transformation.
