Bringing Cider to Washington DC
Over the past few years, Arium’s helped bring dozens of start-up breweries to the region. As the craft beverage market continues to expand, it’s with great pleasure we announce our first Cidery. Capitol Cider House will be opening in the Petworth region of Washington DC on Georgia Ave in 2018. Arium’s “brewer’s table” design concept beat out a number of design firms competing for this exciting project.
Utilizing a clean industrial and honest design aesthetic, the space features rich reclaimed wood planking, oversized barn doors, corrugated metal and exposed concrete surfaces. The design intent was to create an inviting space with layers of experiential opportunities. Patrons are provided with a layered experience that allows them to see portions of the production area where the cider’s raw ingredients are processed, prepared, and ultimately stored to age in a wall of wood barrels. Sitting and drinking amongst the unfinished barrels of cider allows patrons a unique craft beverage experience. A private dining room flanks the bar and serves as a “Brewer’s Table” seating area.
