Arium AE is Now Hiring: Seeking Architectural/Engineering Drafter & Experienced Mechanical Engineer
Arium AE, an architecture and engineering design firm, is seeking an Architectural/Engineering Drafter and an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our growing mid-sized firm. We are currently hiring for the following positions:
Architectural/Engineering Drafter
Arium is seeking a full-time drafter to be cross-trained in Architecture and Engineering. The perfect candidate is detail-oriented and tech-savvy, able to work independently and collaboratively creating drawings on a computer. Drafters will visit construction and project sites to observe and survey existing conditions. They must be able to focus for prolonged periods and prioritize assigned tasks to meet project schedules.
Job Skills & Qualifications:
- Draw detailed and rough scale plans for structures, foundations and buildings, and systems based upon preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets, engineering calculations, and other provided data
- Produce construction-ready documents for contractors and permitting agencies
- Use computer-aided drafting (CAD) software programs to create and modify architectural/engineering documents, designs, working drawings, forms, charts, and records
- Follows the office’s CAD design standards and can effectively set up project working files and construction sheets
- Canto lay out a technically correct, precise tracing or plan
- Bring together structural, mechanical, and electrical designs and create a way or a method of accurately arranging them to produce building designs that are understandable and feasible
Minimum Requirements:
- Technical degree in CAD related field or related equivalent/experience
- Strong CAD/Revit skills are a must
- Ability to operate a computer and the following software: word processing, spreadsheet, and database software required
- Attention to detail and the ability to execute on multiple priorities
- Successful time management skills to work on several projects concurrently
- Own transportation to travel to the office and project sites is essential

Mechanical Engineer
Arium is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our growing practice of 35 professionals. We support our client’s needs through the following engineering service offerings: Conceptual Design & Scope Development, Cost Estimation, Economic Evaluations, Energy Modeling, LEED Documentation, Construction Documents, Construction Administration Services, Start-up, and Commissioning. The perfect candidate should have proven capabilities in all phases of design, experience leading the development of Construction and Permit Documents, and experience performing Construction Administration services.
Job Skills & Qualifications:
- Plan, conceptualize and create mechanical designs for new and existing projects of varying complexity
- Develop, initiate, and manage all phases of projects
- Perform engineering calculations to support design work
- Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors
- Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process
- Ensure project timeline is met, and the project stays within budget
- Review work of project design team, check the progress of work, and alert managers to change of scope and additional services
- Support other engineers or project managers
- Direct CAD designers and other engineers for the preparation of construction drawings
- Supervise the development of computer-aided design (CAD) project drawings from junior team members
- Ability to interpret applicable codes
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Firm grasp of engineering concepts and experience designing mechanical systems and products
- Excellent math skills: the ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems
- Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar
- Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
- Must be self-motivated and a great team worker
- Successful time management skills to work on several projects concurrently
- Own transportation to travel to the office and project sites is essential
