Arium provided full architecture and MEP engineering design services for this single-story pre-engineered metal worship facility. Additional services included interior design and finish selections.

The client required a new building capable of hosting large services for approximately 275 worshippers. In addition, classrooms were required to provide religious education for younger congregants and to serve as meeting spaces and small group worship spaces.

The client wanted to utilize a pre-engineered metal building for ease of construction and cost efficiencies but also wished to avoid the “austere” or “industrial” aesthetic sometimes associated with pre-engineered buildings. Arium’s design incorporates an abundance of natural light and a welcoming entry. Luxury vinyl plank flooring was provided for durability and ease of maintenance. A wood grain finish was selected to convey warmth. The church features a clerestory that runs the full length of the building from the entry vestibule to the altar. Arium paid special attention to concealing HVAC ductwork and maintaining clear sightlines to the clerestory.

While the north façade faces the main road, congregants enter the south facade. Arium elected to treat both the north and south elevation as “fronts” while screening the HVAC yard supporting the full building. The parking lot loops around the entire building and facilitates efficient arrival and departure for the congregation.
